Join Master Silversmith Valentin Yotkov for a workshop
at a magnificent 15th century Palazzo in the heart of Venice
overlooking the Grand Canal. This newly renovated Palazzo
is listed in the Small Luxury Hotels of the World directory.
Our workroom is the spacious, elegantly decorated
music room which has walls covered in murals and a high ceiling
that boasts a beautiful fresco. This room provides plenty
of examples demonstrating how drawing and shading are used
to create dimension.

The workshop will help you develop skills critically
important for you as a jeweler and metalsmith. The focus of
our study will be on creating a master drawing of a jewelry
or hollowware design using light and shadow.
Creating dimension through shading will enable you to see
how that design will appear when executed in metal by repousse,
wax carving or any jewelry fabrication technique.
You can use this drawing to show a client how a
piece of jewelry will look when completed in metal.
Previous drawing experience is not required.
